Frederick “Fred” Gribble, Jr. November 25, 2025

Frederick “Fred” Gribble, Jr., 86 of Shavertown, passed away suddenly on November 25, 2025.

Fred was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 6, 1939 to the late Frederick and Elizabeth Finn Gribble.  He graduated from GAR High School and worked for over 40 years in the produce department at Acme. He then drove for Luzerne County Transportation Authority for more than 10 years.

He was a member of Shavertown United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir. He also sang with Orpheus Choir for many years. Fred was a lifelong, avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Fred’s wife Judith preceded him in death in 2023, as well as his brothers Ronald and William, and his beloved dog Muffin.

Surviving are his daughters, Sharon Mudlock (Frank) and Jennifer Dent (John), grandchildren Stephanie Lombardo (Bernie), Brittany Mudlock, and Victoria Dent, great-grandchildren Luca and Gia Lombardo, sister Elaine Lasecki, as well as sister-in-law Susan Jane Shoemaker.

Funeral services were conducted privately by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
