Vera R. Elias, formerly of Jones St. Wilkes-Barre, passed away on January 2 in River View Nursing and Rehab. Her husband Leo (Tarzan) Elias preceded her in death in 1963.
Vera was a daughter of the late Henry and Assunta Valenti Nardone. She graduated in 1946 from GAR High School.
Prior to retirement, Vera worked for many years in the housekeeping department at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Norma Wilkie, Della Cardoni, and Alma Nardone and brother Larry Nardone.
Vera leaves behind her son Michael Elias and his wife Silvia, Hanover Twp., daughter Theresa Elias, Solebury, grandson Michael Elias and wife Amy, Havertown, brother Professor Henry Nardone, Harveys Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family, and there are no calling hours.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of River View Nursing and Rehab and Residential Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care.
Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre.
