Anthony John Michael January 15, 2025

Anthony John Michael ,81, formerly of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023.
Born Jan 9, 1942, he was the son of the late John and Nora (Sessin) Michael. He was married
to Geraldine Jashinski until her death in 2013.
He was a graduate of the former GAR High school in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. After graduating high
school, Tony enlisted in the US Navy. He was employed by the US Postal Service until his
retirement in 1992. After retirement, Tony held many different jobs including being employed by
Mamary-Durkin Funeral Home, Motorworld and SMG as an usher at Mohegan Sun Arena. He
was also a PIAA wrestling and softball official and an FHSAA softball official in Florida.
Tony was a faithful member of St Anthony/St George Maronite Catholic Church, the Knights of
Lebanon and St Jude’s Church in Orlando, Fl.
After the passing of Geraldine, Tony relocated to Nalcast, Fl where he met new friends and
enjoyed his retirement through traveling.
Tony, in addition to his parents and wife, is proceeded in death by his brother Francis Yogi
Michael.
He is survived by his sister Lena, brother John (Michelle), sister-in-law Marie, nephew and
nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his companion Joanne Michelson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on
Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. from the Mamary- Durkin Funeral & Cremation
Services, 59 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be
celebrated at 11 a.m. in St Anthony/St George Maronite Catholic Church, Park Ave Wilkes-
Barre, with the Rev. David F Michael, his nephew, officiating.
Interment with the rite of committal will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
