After a courageous battle with cancer, Pamela K. Dommes passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 27 surrounded by her loving family.
Pam was born in Swoyersville to George and Mary Ellen Audi and graduated from Wyoming Valley West High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at Bloomsburg University and later received her Master’s.
After graduation, Pam returned to her alma mater, and for the last 32 years, she held her dream job of being a 6th and 7th grade middle school science teacher. Pam’s passion was teaching and empowering her students to succeed and dream big. Some of Pam’s involvement includes the NASA Project Endeavor, student council, teacher mentor, and talent shows.
Pam loved to travel, and anyone who knew her knows the beach was her happy place. In the summertime, Pam could be found on her front porch greeting and talking with the neighbors.
Pam was an amazing human being. While battling her cancer, she found the strength and compassion to offer guidance, wisdom, and support to friends and family who were in their own struggles. Pam always knew she was blessed. She was a grateful, patient, kind, generous, and loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, and co-worker.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her only child Max, her mother Mary Ellen Audi, sister Tammy Audi, brother George Audi and wife Denise, nephews Jake and Nick Miscavage, Dylan Audi, niece Gabriella Audi, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father George Audi.
We were all BLESSED to have had her in our lives. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 1 from 4-6pm at Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St. Wilkes-Barre. A blessing service will be held at 5:45pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately in St. Mary’s Antiochian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to Candy’s Place, Kingston, PA.
