George Abraham, Jr. February 11, 2025

George Abraham, Jr., 89 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on April 17 at Geisinger Wyoming
Valley Medical Center.
George was the son of the late George and Lilian Verry Abraham. Also preceding him in death
were his wife Joan (Alansky) Abraham in 2019, and his sisters Shirley, Joan, Carol, and Anna.
George attended Meyers High School and then worked as a mechanic and truck driver for State
Transfer Company and as a mechanic for various other trucking companies.
George and Joan were members of the Polka Jets, and he loved going to the casino.
George is survived by his son George and wife Debbie, daughters Joanne and Pam,
grandchildren Brian, Chris, and Mike, great-grandchildren Bryana, Gavin, and Garrett, sister
Patricia Klebon, and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 21 from 10-11:30am at Mamary-Durkin Funeral &
Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Fr. Dang will conduct a blessing service in the
funeral home at 11:30am followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
