Ashley Ann Boyer, née Ricko, 37, passed away peacefully at home on October 7, 2025, in Hanover, Maryland. Ashley was the devoted wife of Timothy Boyer and the immensely proud mother of the light of their life, their daughter, Aribella.
Born in Hanover Township, PA on September 15, 1988, Ashley was the daughter of Donald and Donna Ricko and was the youngest of their five amazing children. She graduated from Hanover Area Senior High School in 2007 and The Pennsylvania State University – University Park in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services. Ashley further earned a Master’s Degree in Health Informatics from
Misericordia University in 2015.
After relocating to Virginia in 2015, Ashley reconnected with her former colleague from Wegman’s, her fellow Penn State alum, and her soul mate, and the rest is as you say, history. Ashley and Tim wed in a beautiful beach ceremony in the Dominican Republic on September 2, 2021, surrounded by their friends and family. Two years later, the
couple was blessed with their little bundle of joy and Ashley quickly thrived and reveled in her new, and additional, role as “mama” to Aribella.
The life of the party, a lover of anything with sequins or four legs, the biggest Eagles fan in DelMarVa (go Birds!), and the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend anyone could ask for, Ashley left us way too soon and her loss will leave an immense everlasting hole in an immeasurable number of hearts.
In addition to Tim, Aribella, and her loving parents, Ashley was survived by her brothers, Donald and Steven Ricko, her sister, Kristen Laffey (née Ricko), her two beloved dogs, Bentley and Lincoln, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, October 14 at St. Robert Bellarmine/St. Aloysius Church, Hanover Twp., PA.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9:30-11:30am Tuesday.
Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
