Carl F. “Kook” Daubert, Jr. August 26, 2024

Carl F. “Kook” Daubert, Jr., 80 of Hanover Twp., passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on August 26.

Carl was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Carl, Sr. & Mary Zinda Daubert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude “Sis”, brother-in-law Jim Carbohn, sister-in-law Joy Daubert, and dog Kiki.

After graduating from Dallas High School in 1963, Carl went on to serve in the US Navy aboard the USS Vernon County during the Vietnam War. He then worked until retirement as an optician at Luzerne Optical of Wilkes-Barre.

Carl was a volunteer fireman with Lee Park Fire Co. #4, a former member of VFW Gary B. Davies Post Kingston, and a former Little League coach for Lee Park. He was an avid train enthusiast, loved Jeff Dunham and music, especially the Beatles, he enjoyed going to the casino, and he loved sharing stories about his Navy service.

Carl is survived by his daughter Patricia (Francis) Mumma, son Carl (Michelle) Daubert, son Kenneth (Roberta) Daubert, daughter Cindy (Michael, Sr.) Wren, 13 grandchildren-Nicole (Jeremy) Rose, Sean (Katie) Brennan, Edward Uzdilla III, Ryan J. Kolbert, Ashlie (Harrison) Finch, Carl J. (Marissa Metric) Daubert, Emily (Jake Brackett) Daubert, Katie Daubert, Michael (Danielle) Wren, Bailea (Patrick Robinholt) Wren, Jacob Wren, Hannah Wren, and Alicia Wren, 6 great-grandchildren-Ursula P. and Artemis Rose, Natali and Brody McCarthy, Theodore Brackett, Alice and Arya Robinholt, and Ethan Wren, brother James Daubert, sister-in-law Ann Horridge, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, August 28 at Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street Wilkes-Barre, PA. Interment will be Friday at 11am in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.

    My words cannot express the feelings of loss i have with his passing . I am so very sorry and want to send your whole family my condoleence, comfort, peace and my heart felt symapathy.. Carl was such a good person with such a big heart and his family was the center. He was so much a Good Friend and we spent much time exchanging our laughter and even tears.. He had a spot talent on telling the best stories. So much to miss, but so many memories to hold. I ‘m so glad that we got a chance to talk. laugh, listen to records and crack each other up again. Carl I will miss you so and I will hold memories and look for the cardinal. Love Marion..
