Edward A. Wancio March 4, 2024

Edward A. Wancio, 84 and longtime resident of Warminster, PA, passed away peacefully on
March 4 at Brookdale Dublin.
Edward currently resided in Doylestown with his wife Rebecca. He was the son of the late
Edward and Gertrude (nee Karpinski) Wancio and grew up in Ranshaw, PA.
After graduating from Coal Township High School in 1957, he served as a paratrooper in the
Army’s 101 st Airborne Division. He then worked for 39 years at SPS Technologies in
Jenkintown.
Edward was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in the Hanover section of
Nanticoke, the Ranshaw Hunting Camp, and the Brady Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Rebecca (nee Gluhanicz), sons David (Jean Marie) and
Daniel (Sandra), daughter Deborah Clark (James), grandchildren Shain, Nicholas, Sarah,
Audrey, and Evan; sister Barbara Fox, niece Lisa Bean and nephews Kevin and Brian Fox.
Ed was a loving and loyal husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Family was the
center of his life; he lived the phrase ‘actions speak louder than words’ daily. He had a strong
work ethic, and a knack for small personal moments that let you know he cared for you. Ed was
an animated and humorous storyteller with a gift for keeping everyday life fun.
As a lifelong member of Ranshaw Hunting Camp Ed fully enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the
camaraderie that came with both. He especially cherished spending time with family every year
at Susquehanna Rod and Gun Club. Ed, Becky and their family traveled throughout the US
making memories far from home when they weren’t relaxing together on the back patio.
Affectionately named “Big Guy’ by his grandkids, Ed is deeply missed by those who loved him.
The funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 13 in St. John the Baptist
Orthodox Church, 106 Welles St. Nanticoke. The family will receive friends from 10am until time
of service in the church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
