Gene Sauerwine, Jr., 45 of Wilkes-Barre, passed away at home after a lengthy illness on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
Gene is already deeply missed by his parents Eugene and Cathy (Williamson) Sauerwine, his son Tyler, daughter Julia, sisters Tammy Metz (Brian) and Tonya Shanko (Mike), 3 grandchildren, the love of his life–Amy Miller, nephews, cousins, friends, and dogs Gunner, Bella, and Chance.
After graduating from Meyers High School in 1998, he worked for Penn Refrigeration and Three Little Pigs/House of Bricks. He was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and the Boston Celtics, and he enjoyed going to the beach and the casino.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 5-7pm on Thursday, September 25 at Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. A blessing service will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
