Gary E. Quick, Sr. March 10, 2026

Gary E. Quick, Sr., 77 of Courtdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Gary was born in Pittston to the late Ernest and Ruth Murray Quick. He was a 1966 graduate of Pittston High School and then served with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Gary was a supervisor for Leslie Faye and later retired from TP Corp., Duryea. He was a member of the VFW in Dupont and had a love of cars, the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, golf, and his dogs Jeter and Snowflake.

Gary leaves behind his son Gary Quick, Jr. and wife Heather, daughter Lori Quick and Fiancée Al, grandchildren Joshua and Ariel Quick, fiancée Linda Hardik, and brother Brian Quick.

He was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Quick and sister Sandra Scalter.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand, a friend to everyone, shared warmth, touched many lives, always put others first and was known to many as “Coach” who still call him that today. One of his greatest joys in life was passing on his love for the game of baseball to the younger generations.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the following employees for his Home Health Care Maribeth, Mike, Lori, Ellen and Pat and also the Staff at RiverStreet Manor for their compassionate care.

The viewing will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, March 16 at Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street Wilkes-Barre, PA. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 17 at the funeral home followed by interment with military honors in the Cemetery Association of the German People of Hughestown.
