Lena Ruth Perrin September 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lena Ruth Perrin, who departed this life on September 2, 2025, at the age of 69 surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Lena was born on December 13, 1955, in Wilkes-Barre PA to the late Abraham and Ruth (Walters) George. After graduating from Meyers High School in 1974, she enjoyed working as a waitress at the Bear Creek Inn and Patte’s Sports Bar. Finally, she established her career at the Social Security Administration where she worked until retirement.

One of Lena’s most admirable qualities was her ability to love. More than anything she loved her family. She was the heart of our home –a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her unwavering support and selfless care shaped our lives in ways words can never fully express.

The creation of the family whom she loved so deeply began when meeting her husband Barry at Lispi’s. They then got married and have been by each other’s side through sickness and in health for 37 inspiring years. Within these 37 years they have enjoyed going to amusement parks, beaches, and taking the kids camping.

Along with these activities Lena enjoyed growing up attending church with her father and taking trips to wineries with friends she met along her journey in life, especially with her best friend Pat, who stuck by her side during these challenging last months. In addition, she was an amazing cook and incredible grammy. Above all else, she loved her grandchildren. Lena never turned down the opportunity to teach her granddaughter Kaitlyn something new in the kitchen or facetime with her grandson Sylas.

In addition to her parents, Lena was welcomed in Heaven by her son Adam Perrin, brother Henry (Snooky) Kuhns, nephew Timmy Kuhns, and favorite dogs Jasper and Gizmo.

She is survived by her beloved husband Barry, children Joshua Perrin and wife Trisha, Shelley Puzzetti, Christopher Perrin and wife Marissa, daughter-in-law Jennifer Perrin, grandchildren Seth, Kaitlyn, Chance, Sophia, Joey, Lucas, and Sylas, who will continue to honor her memory by living their lives with the grace and compassion she exemplified every day.

The family would like to thank TJ Puzzetti, who will always be considered Lena’s son-in-law, for the consistency of showing up for her and his family through these difficult times; Michelle Ceklosky for volunteering to take care of and support the family and Hospice of Scared Heart particularly Justin, Shannon, and Michelle.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 11 at St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Church, 311 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre. A viewing will be held at the church from 10am until time of service.

Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
