Regina (Gina) C. Russo, 85 of Duryea, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2025.
Born July 5, 1940 in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Liberty and Ann (Polinsky) Darbenzio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Benjamin Russo, Sr. and sister Shirley Grabosky, brother Vincent Darbenzio, and half-brother David Darbenzio.
Gina was a lifelong member of the Independent Bible Church of Duryea, and she enjoyed attending Ladies’ Club Bible Study. Her great love for God was exemplified daily as she faithfully called, prayed for, and checked in on family and friends. In spite of her own health issues, she didn’t complain, but rather encouraged everyone with her own joy and witticisms.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son Benjamin, Jr. and his wife Shannon, son Vito, granddaughters Julianna and Makenna, brother Liberty Darbenzio, half-brother Dino Darbenzio, nieces, nephews, and her loving church family.
Family and friends are invited to the Independent Bible Church of Duryea at 328 Main St. Duryea on Saturday, August 23 for a viewing from 3-5pm followed by her funeral service at 5pm. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by Mamary–Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to the Independent Bible Church of Duryea.
