Sadie Ann Deeb January 15, 2025

Sadie Ann Deeb passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 05, 2023 at Allied Hospice
Meade St., Wilkes-Barre.
Sadie was one of eight children born in Swoyersville on November 12, 1940 to the late Annise
and Sadie Decker Deeb. All of her siblings Anthony, Paul, George, John, Peter, Annis, and
Marjorie preceded her in death.
Sadie resided in Wilkes-Barre and graduated from GAR Memorial High School. She was a
devout Marionite Catholic and lifetime member of St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Church.
Sadie was a supervisor at Blue Cross, having worked there for more than 40 years.
Sadie loved to travel all over with family and friends, and more recently, she went to Atlantic City
and to Mohegan Sun with her best friend Janice Swanberry. They would always fit in a meal at
Patte’s to complete their outing.
She had a love for family and lived for her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege
of knowing her.
Sadie will be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law Barbara and Mae Deeb, nieces and nephews
Peter Joseph Deeb, John Patrick Deeb and wife Marina, Carol Fitzpatrick, Kelly Deeb, Jason
Deeb, Leila Tucker and husband Joseph, numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and
friends.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nurses, aides, and staff of Whispering
Hope, Allied Nursing Care, and Allied Hospice for their compassionate care for Aunt Sadie.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 11am at St. Anthony/St. George
Maronite Church followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Twp. Friends may call
from 9:30-10:30am at Mamary-Durkin Funeral and Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St. Wilkes-
Barre.
The family requests that anyone who desires would consider making a donation in Sadie’s
memory to St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Church, 331 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
