Diane Jones Youngblood, 74 of Mountaintop, passed away at home on July 12, 2026. Born in Wilkes-Barre on October 1, 1951, she was known for her warmth, wisdom, and spirited personality.
Diane was a 1969 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School before pursuing a career as a nurse. Diane spent 35 years at Pediatric Associates, where she became a steady and reassuring presence for countless families. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings, and filling her home with friends and laughter.
Diane had a gift for offering guidance shaped by life’s joys and challenges. She embraced life with stubbornness, craftiness, loyalty, and a readiness for adventure.
She’s reunited with her daughter Tammy in heaven, feeding the chipmunks, hosting the party, and planning the next night out. Also preceding her in death were her husband Michael J. Youngblood, brothers Dwight and David Jones, and her sisters Debbie Jones and Dawn Marek.
She is survived by her daughter Holly Usavage (Frank), son Thomas Simpson, sister Denise Tomko, grandchildren Ian Simpson, Jyllian Barchi, Rocco Barchi, Ava Usavage, and Frankie Usavage, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was the heart of her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted sister, proud grandmother, and treasured friend.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 17 from 4-6pm at Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
