Gail A. Thomas Brodie, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death in 1998.
Gail was a daughter of the late Rev. Charles and Laura Trevethan Thomas. She graduated from Coughlin High School.
Gail worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at Franklin First Federal and served as the recorder at Wilkes University for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Gail was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was an avid reader and devout Christian who studied the scriptures daily. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was famous for her family dinners.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Janet Kile and Joan Thomas.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and caretaker, Jean Brodie-Druby; son-in-law, Scott Druby, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Laura Podolak and husband, Greg, Hanover Twp.; son, Robert Brodie and wife, Sharon, Hanover Twp.; grandchildren, Emily Druby, Kristen and Katie Podolak and Allyson Brodie; brother, Charles R. Thomas Jr.; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time.
Arrangements are by Mamary-Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre.
