Nancy L. Eble, 86 of Harding, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born July 8, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Forrest Iverson Hartman and Alberta Tilley Hartman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Robert “Truman” Eble, Sr. in 2002 and her sister Roberta Ann Hartman in 2010.
Nancy was a 1958 graduate of West Pittston High School and Wilkes-Barre Area Nursing School. She worked in nursing at Nesbitt Hospital and at Charleston General Hospital, WV.
Nancy attended Independent Bible Church of Duryea and was a member of Grace Bible Church of West Pittston before its closing. She enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to hymns, and sending encouraging cards to everyone. In later life, she would spend hours on her back porch reading, watching the birds at the feeders, and getting angry with the squirrels.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons Bob, Joel, and Gary, all of Harding, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The viewing will be at the Independent Bible Church of Duryea, 328 Main St. Duryea, on Monday, July 27, from 5-7pm and on Tuesday, July 28, from 9-10am, followed by the funeral service at 10am. Interment will be in Mountain View Burial Park, Harding.
Arrangements are by Mamary–Durkin Funeral & Cremation Services, 59 Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Independent Bible Church of Duryea, the Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Missions (https://praysendgo.com/donate/), or the Canaan Christian Academy Scholarship Fund (30 Hemlock Road, Lake Ariel, PA 18436).
